Accidents in Public/Private Places
Every year in Ireland, many thousands of people are injured as a result of accidents in public and private places. These accidents may include slips on spillages, poorly maintained pavements/footpaths. If you have suffered an injury as a result of an accident in a public place, you may be entitled to bring a claim for compensation.
What should I do if I have an accident in a public place?
Report the accident to the owner and/or to the employees of the owner of the property where the accident happened and talk to the most senior person available at the time.
Take notes of the accident.
Record the names, addresses and contact information of any witnesses to the accident.
If possible, take photographs of the location of the accident
Keep receipts for all of your costs and expenses related to the accident
Contact a Solicitor to ascertain if you have a valid claim
